About the Author: Preston Judd was born in the early 1980's in the far northern state of california. Raised with a subsistence lifestyle, on a farm with no electricity, and tilling the family gardens with horse and plow. Preston learned hard work, and self sufficiency are cornerstones to survival and anonymity. Judd was home schooled by way of Mcguffy readers. During his childhood Preston learned to split rails, chop fire wood, tend a farm, raise various farm animals, milk goats, hunt, fish, and work hard.
In the early 1990's due to familial upheaval, Judd moved to washington State, near Seattle to live with his youngest sister. During the next year of his life more familial upheaval forced Judd out onto the street. He lived in the streets during the day, and found the "Cacoon House" at night. He was able to attend a school for troubled children during some of this time. A widower in her seventies, that Judd had met from church a year earlier took notice of this young boy. She saw him languishing, living on the street, and suffering for want if housing, clothing and food. She offered to take Judd in. Judd was hesitant however, he eventually relented with the promise that he could go to High School. Judd entered high school and lettered in track, cross country, and wrestling. He maintained a 4.0 GPA and graduated in 2001. Seeking a job in aviation, Judd joined the United States Marine Corps in 2001, attended school at Naval Air station Pensacola. Upon graduation Judd embarked on a twenty year career in Marine Aviation. As a Logistician he deployed on the Aircraft carrier (CVN 70) USS Carl Vinson. He also deployed to Japan for 4 years. Upon his return to San Diego shortly thereafter he deployed in support of operation enduring freedom. During this deployment in 2012 he came under direct and indirect fire at camp bastion. This account is documented in his book "River City". Judd finished his career with the United States Marine Corps in late 2021. He moved to Pensacola Florida, and began managing his businesses, and writing. Judd is involved in Politics, having run for office and supports local candidates and is active in the Republican Party. Judd continues to write and advocate for veterans and the local community, striving for smaller government, affordability, lower taxes, and smarter local budgeting.
